Trace Foundation Received the "Top Ten Public Welfare Sector Model" award

Trace Foundation has been selected as one of the  “Ten Good Public Sector Models” currently operating in China. The Foundation was formally recognized at the 2009 New Year's Greeting Forum which took place from January 8th-10th in Beijing. Ms. Andrea E. Soros, Founder and President of Trace Foundation, was awarded the honorary title "Ambassador of Compassion and Charity" at the forum.

The forum, titled “Through Scientific Development to Promote Harmony; Through Economic Ties and Trade to Promote Development," was jointly sponsored by the China Today magazine and the Chinese Economy, Science and Technology Development Association for International Exchange. The forum was attended by several government leaders including Mr. Abrati Abdurashti, Vice Chairman of the State Political Consultative Committee, Mr. Zhou Keren, former Vice Minister of Commerce and current Chairman of the China Enterprises for Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Association of the Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Leiqun, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Ideological and Political Work Committee.

The conference organizing committee praised Trace Foundation for its many years of dedication to the people of China, commending not only its regular work in education and poverty alleviation, but also its role in assisting government agencies with disaster relief.

Trace Foundation was further featured by China Today in Greetings on the Sixtieth Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC, a journal produced by the editorial staff that has been widely distributed among both governmental and non-governmental institutions.
