Program in Culture - Publishing and Reading

Trace Foundation's Publishing and Reading Project supports local publishing houses to print and distribute literature, reference materials, and children's books, in order to improve learning skills and foster the joy of reading among adults and children alike.

By making written materials in minority nationality languages more widely available, the foundation hopes to cultivate reading and stimulate creativity. In order to achieve these goals, we cooperate with publishing houses, individuals, and local education bureaus to print and distribute books and implement a series of related projects at the primary school level. A few publishing projects preserve and propagate traditional texts, but most provide access to modern resources.

The development and publication of educational materials is an important part of the foundation's educational projects and is closely linked to our Publishing and Reading work.
