Program in Education - Business Education
To help young people and entrepreneurs to develop their ideas and participate in modern business networks, the foundation funds Business Education training. Classes introduce best practices in business and include socially responsible approaches, such as environmental protection and philanthropy.

A business training project supported by Trace Foundation at Qinghai Normal University provides Tibetan entrepreneurs with a broad understanding of contemporary trade and commerce. Experts from Shanghai, Guangzhou, Lanzhou, and Xining give workshop participants training in topics such as law, banking, computer services, compliance with regulations, taxation, and marketing. Two-week and six-month courses have been offered in an effort to meet the needs of workshop participants. Using materials adapted for China from the training manual of the New York-based Workshop in Business Opportunities (WIBO), teachers utilize a student-centered and interactive approach in lectures, readings, assignments and discussions. The Chinese version of the WIBO manual is available to be viewed or downloaded on the resources page of this web site.

Other projects address training needs in more specific fields of business. Trace Foundation supports the development of Tibetan Medicine through the provision of business and management training for the staff of traditional Tibetan medicine hospitals and medicine factories. Working in partnership with the State Drug Administration of China and the TAR Medical Quality Control Bureau, the foundation has developed and funded training courses to help Tibetan Medical Enterprises (TMEs) become more competitive within the traditional medicine market.

Training courses in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) and Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) enable TME employees to understand GMP, GPP and GAP requirements and apply them appropriately to the cultivation and production of Tibetan medicines. Sessions on corporate social responsibility and community service enhance the trainings and participants are also able to discuss issues of mutual concern and plan further cooperation.
