Since its inception, Trace Foundation's greatest commitment has been
to strengthening the educational system in Tibetan areas of China.
Education offers not only the opportunity for material advancement and
economic development; it also plays a vital role in enriching the
quality of everyday life. In many communities, however, poverty plays
a significant role in constraining individuals' attempts to gain an
education.
Recognizing this vital need, since 1999 Trace Foundation
has offered scholarships to promising individuals committed to
improving the quality of life in Tibetan areas. In order to implement
a systematic approach to student support, Trace Foundation launched
the Tibetan Medium Higher Education Scholarships Project (TMHES) in
2005. A six year initiative, this program provides scholarships for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Professional Training programs to
individuals committed to the development of Tibetan areas of China.
As of the end of 2007, 835 undergraduates, 59 postgraduate students,
and 73 in service professionals have received support from Trace
Foundation's TMHES.
Apply now for Postgraduate and Professional Training Scholarships.
Deadline for submission of pre-screening material: March 1.
Undergraduate scholarships are awarded through Trace Foundation partner institutions. At this time Trace Foundation cannot accept direct applications for undergraduate scholarships. Please see undergraduate scholarships for further details.
