Saturday, September 29, 2012

Join us in celebrating the beauty of the Tibetan written word with world-renowned artist Mipham Namgyal Rinpoche. We will explore traditional and artistic styles of Tibetan calligraphy with a talk, exhibit, and demonstrationby Rinpoche and special guests, calligrapher Phuntsok Dhumkhang and library director Pema Bhum.

Through his artwork and publications, he has raised funds to support the growth of Tibetan communities in his home region. Over the last decade, he established the Norling Library and the Wamlung Monastery Dharma Institute and made possible the restoration and renovation of the monastery and construction of monk dormitories, among other projects. A book of his calligraphy was recently published.
