Latse Library

Trace Foundation’s Latse Library is the premiere research library dedicated to modern Tibetan studies. Through our unique holdings we offer scholars, researchers, and the general public a window on contemporary life on the Tibetan Plateau.

Services & Hours

Trace Foundation’s Latse Library is free and open to the general public, no membership required. We are a nonlending library but have comfortable reading and research facilities. The library also offers a number of public programs. For directions, click here.

As we make improvements to our library and office space over the next few months, Trace Foundation's Latse Library will be operating on a limited schedule (as listed below), by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please contact our librarians at 212-367-7380 or by .

Thank you for your patience as we improve the library and office. Stay tuned: we look forward to inviting you back into the improved space in the spring of 2014 with full hours and a series of special events to celebrate our twentieth anniversary.
