Since 1993, the Library has been the premiere research library dedicated to modern Tibetan studies.
Through our unique holdings we offer scholars, researchers, and the general public a window on contemporary life on the Tibetan Plateau.
Services and Hours
Trace Foundation’s Library is free and open to the general public, no membership required. We are a nonlending library but have comfortable reading and research facilities. The library also offers a number of public programs. To schedule an appointment, please contact our librarians at 212-367-7380 or by e-mail.
We are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays by appointment, 10am to 5pm; Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 5pm, and on Saturdays from 11am to 6pm. Unable to visit the library in person? the Library also provides reference service by phone and email. At the moment the Library is closed through August 20. Thereafter, it will be open by appointment only.
